Build Tomorrow - Another Day Of Life

Well things at the homestead are quiet for the moment.  Most that have now heard of the family blow-up are supportive of us.  The hard part is to remain strong while we figure out what the next steps are.  That is something that is an ongoing discussion.

We do want our children to have a relationship with their grandparents, but it needs to be on our terms.  So how do we set those terms.  And do we do it on our own, or do we need some sort of third party intervention.

I updated the “About me” page with I hope some more useful information, and I hope information that will encourage you to come back to this site.  I have some more stuff coming that I hope will better engage my readers, and build a community of those looking to Build Tomorrow together.

To me the world is all about hope.  I ran across a post on the blog Thinking Simple, based on a question I had posted via a social network, where the author Christyawan discussed their perfect day.  It was all about the day his first son was born, and the pending arrival of his newest child.  I think he is right on with his priorities. He’s really got it right.

I have added a countdown timer to the site that is a reminder to EVERYONE to submit their comments to the Fed about rule changes for credit card compnies.  We all need to act to make sure our voices get heard.

I wanted to also say thanks again to Tricia over at Blogging Away Debt for allowing me to guest post, on such an imprtant issue for the consumer.  And thank those that have come to check out this blog.  I hope you’ll continue to come back.

~Another Day

Aren’t there days you wish you could hit the “reset” button on you life? There are many days I wish I could. Not that I would want to change the circumstances of my life, but I would live to be able to reboot my daily life, and hope that some of the glitches reset. So how do you hit that reset button? Well that often is the big question. One I am not always too sure of. I think when ever we need to do that we need to realize that we have specific reboot steps, just like any electronics we may have.

So for our computers we:

• We need to stop our own over taxed operating system.
• We need to shut down any unnecessary programs.
• Power down
• Wait a few minutes
• Start Up
• Prevent any “extra” programs from starting up

For us as people it’s a similar idea:

• Stop over analyzing
• Do something that relaxes you, go for a walk, read, play a game.
• Get a good nights sleep
• take the problem in small ways to make it seem less challenging.

Hopefully that will engage you reset button. When was the last time you reset your mind?

So Friday is here and I am going to try and highlight some of the fun Stuff. So I am sure there are so many other fun things out there.

Have you heard of Lively by Google? Similar in Idea to Second Life, but a lot less advanced, it’s a smaller idea in the world of both on-line living, and Social Networking. Lively Seems to be much more designed for the Social Networking Idea. If you are a marketer, or even trying to make new friends it’s interesting. I have created a room there called “Debtors Across the World”. It’s a good meeting place for those wanting to have a better financial future. Check it out if you are so inclined.

If you are a writer, Dr. John over at the Fortress, reminds everyone that July 20th is the day to submit a story to his Liar’s club contest. Just check out his July 9, 2008 post for details.

Also Trent over at the simple dollar has some great posts this week about living paycheck to paycheck.
