Build Tomorrow - Another Day Of Life

Build Tomorrow, Another Day at a time

About Me

Feb-6-2008 By Family Man

The Family ManIt’s been a long time since I updated my “About Me” page, and probably a good time to update it.  This way you can get a better idea of who I am, and why I am doing this. And why is it that you may want to follow this blog.

“About Me”

My name is Ian, but on this site I use the Moniker “Family Man”, because it is what is most important to me.  My family always comes first.  In July of 2006 I married the best woman in the whole wide world.  It was the second marriage for the both of us (See the special series below for details).  In addition to having the best wife I also got two wonderful sons in the deal that I am in the process of adopting.  In the fall of 2006 we found that our oldest son now 14 had a serious learning disability, as well as a severe anxiety disorder.  This caused my wife to take a year off to work though both his educational and emotional needs.  This as well as a combination of buying into the credit hype has put us far beyond our financial means, close to ruin.  This blog will deal with that as well as family, and all of the challenges of parenting.  I also have a 9 year old son, “The Busy one”, and a 5 month old, “The Ham”. I stared this blog in March of 2007 as I began a journey to Build Tomorrow, a better one for my family.  I discuss everything from my personal feelings to personal finance, and share what I learn about digging out of debt, as well as personal growth through change and challenges.  You can read many blogs from people that succeeded, but this one you can share in the struggle to succeed.

I am the average person.  I struggle to be a husband, father, son, and a good person.  I go to church on Sunday (well most Sundays) and work a 9-5 job.  I want to live the American dream.  I want to have that happy stable life, and leave the world a little better than I left it.

First off to understand why I am where I am financially and personally you can read my special series called “The Road to Today”.  I broke it down into Parts.  Just for the sake of ease you can find them here:

Part I: “The Road to Today- In the Beginning”

Part II: “The Road to Today-”The addiction of instant Gratification”

Part III: “The Road to Today-”Going Down to the Bottom”

Part IV: “Redemption Part I”

Part V: “Market Meltdown”

Part VI: “A Life Complete”

Part VII: “Falling”

Part VIII: “Today”

Why Another Day of Life?

I call this blog, “Build Tomorrow-Another Day of Life”.  Why?  Well because it reminds me that in order to build a better tomorrow you have to do it, one day at a time, and I try to believe that each day is “Another day of life”, and we choose what it will be.  This blog is about the journey we all take each and every day of our lives.  And “Build Tomorrow, Another Day of Life” just seemed to sum it up.
