In celebration of the new year and the first Way Back Wednesday of 2009, I thought I would share with you some of the scenes from the pilot episodes of some of the better known shows on TV. Just like the new year they all started here.
M*A*S*Hwas aTV series based on the feature film MASH. It aired on CBS from 1972 until 1983. It followed a team of doctors and support staff stationed at the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital in Uijeongbu, South Korea, during the Korean War.
Cheers was a TV comedy that ran for eleven seasons from 1982 to 1993 on NBC. The show is set in the Cheers bar (named for the toast “Cheers”) in Boston, Massachusetts, where a group of locals meet to drink and have fun. It revolved around the bar owner Sam Malone (Ted Danson) and his friends.
ER is an Emmy Award-winning American Drama Series created by the late novelist Michael Crichton, airing on NBC from 1994 with the upcoming finale in March of 2009. It is set primarily in the emergency room of fictional County General Hospital in Cook County, Chicago.
Smallvilleis a TV series, based on the DC Comics character Superman, created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. It premeired in 2001, and is currently in it’s 8th season. It chronicles the life of a young Clark Kent before he became Superman.
