One thing I always find to be relaxing and a bit cathartic are visits to my Grandparents home. Growing up and visiting them, I was always fascinated by their Grandfather Clock. I could hear it ticking away and the chiming of the clock always gave me that warm safe feeling. I look forward to visiting them even today, and will often take a moment to close my eyes, and listen to the quiet ticking, and still get that feeling when I hear the chimes go off. It makes me feel safe, and worry free even in today’s crazy world.
Grandfather clocks are like a warm blanket, it’s there but you don’t always stop to think about them. You do learn to associate those warm feelings even when you are not in their presence, but something makes you think of them.
For example, I ran across the Grandfather Clocks Blog the other day, and found myself feeling that safe feeling even though I was not at their house hearing their clock in person. I found their post on how Grandfather Clocks Stand Up to Time, and couldn’t agree more. I was actually amazed at the actual number and type of Grandfather Clocks, Mantel Clocks, and other types of clocks there really are.
That got me thinking about how much I would love to have a Grandfather Clock in my own home. So I visited their main site 1-800-4clocks.com, and started dreaming of the type of Grandfather Clock I would love to own. The Howard Miller clocks really caught my eye. I fell in love with the Fallsworth model. I can picture that in my front foyer even now.
If you are ever looking for sleek elegance and timeless beauty I would highly recommend a Grandfather clock.
