I often find it hard to find time to do everything I need to do. I am out of the house about 12 hours a day, and now with little league, there a generally two days a week it’s more like 16 or 19 hours. Personal Time Management is something that each and every person can find value in. Having three children, a wife and pets makes Personal Time Management even more important to me. I have to find time for the kids, my wife, my pets, and the normal responsibilities each and every day.
The idea of Personal Time Management is important no matter if you are talking about family, money management, or even your own health. I am working to better develop my techniques of managing both my professional time, and my personal time.
I have developed some goals based on my own personal theory I call “Duderodimy”. Why that name? Well is a nickname I call the youngest member of our household. My wife hates it, the other kids think it’s hilarious. But it’s a basic principle. Break my life into chunks. If I chunk time towards debt, that is what the time is for. Baseball time, is a chunk, family time is a chunk. Try to keep it simple.
Little dude, or Duderodimy has that down pat. He has distinct chunks of time:
- Awake and exploring
- Social interaction
- Mommy Time
- Daddy Time (this is a fairly new chunk as the whole parental association is just taking shape)
- Eating
- Sleeping
- Diaper changes.
That’s it. Simple, right? Now of course I can’t be that simple in my plan, but I can be successful by trying to break the multitude of things in my life down to basic areas.
I’ll let you know how it’s going.

As do I generally. I used to be really good at it. It’s something I need to get good at again!.
