The Innocence of Youth

It always amazes me how innocence changes the view of the world. Sometimes if you stop to think about it from a much more basic perspective, it can change your outlook. Keep your life simple, and it will be much simpler. Take for example the picture at the right. The baby is not smiling because he just got cash, or a big promotion, or that new truck. He is smiling because he is lying in his mothers lap, and she just touched his nose. She showed him love and affection. I got that this morning. He happened to be wide awake this morning while I got ready for work. He was facinated with watching me, and I got to pick him up before I left for the day, and got a big toothless smile. Not because I did anything other than the same thing his mother did for this picture. I showed him affection.
We all seem to loose that innocence about things. We make our lives 10, or 100 times more complicated than they need to be because we are the “grown ups”. Maybe though the innocence of youth would better suit us sometimes. If we stopped making things complicated for a few minutes, and made them easier, would life not be easier?
So for the moment I will stop thinking about why I do everything, and just know I do what I do for one reason.
