Britney is serious news!
I am oh so tired of Britney Spears, Sam Lutfi, and Lynne Spears. Her world has become such a freak show, it’s like watching a train wreck unfold in front of you. In fact the tabloid website TMZ.com as of this morning dedicated 9 or their 15 front page posts to the real world soap opera that is Britney Spears. Even MSNBC, and CNN thought it news worthy enough to have it on the front page, though CNN decided against a picture caption, just making it item #1 on the latest news. I would have thought the Showdown over the Stimulus Bill would be bigger news. Instead we get really awesome video like this as our top news.
Seriously. How about all of the citizens out there struggling to make ends meet, or at least something relevant. I don’t think I will ever understand why someone like Britney Spears is front page news. Is her mental meltdown front page news? Will it even remotely affect me at all?
Ok I do feel bad for her, and hope she gets the help she needs, but do I really need to see it on every news outlet? If it’s really that important of a news item, I think our news editors really have too much spare time on their hands.
