Build Tomorrow - Another Day Of Life

Happy day before New Year’s Eve. I wish could say I am back to normal, however It was not meant to be, at least not yet. I am still sick, though while I am feeling quite a bit better, I am not yet quite at even 80%. I still have a very raspy voice, which doesn’t sound like me, and a terrible cough. I had high hope for this vacation, but they were not meant to be.

I have however been working on the “New” look and tone to this blog. I am hoping to launch it right around New Year’s week. I am totally redesigning it, and revamping it. I would love to get some of the readers back I seem to be loosing, through my own fault however. I have also been talking to some folks about guest blogging.

Just to make sure I share, I did spent most of my day yesterday with my wife in the emergency room. Over the last few days she seems to have developed a rash that was continuing to spread. Her OB did blood tests, and all sort of things to no avail. It finally got so bad she called again yesterday, and they had her report to the ER. After a few hours of more talking and checking, they decided it is a condition called PUPS. It is apparently an unexplained rash that pregnant women get. More debate, and the decision was a quick tapering dose of steroids to stop the itching, let the rash go away and have little to no effect on the baby. So that has been my vacation so far.

I had hoped to be back yesterday, but unfortuatly, am now really, really sick. I spent my day getting blood drawn, and am now on antibitotic type 2, and have no, I mean zero voice. They said that I have a pretty rough infection. So I will be back in a day or so when I am feeling better.

Happy Holidays! I have my suspicions I will not be near a computer tomorrow. I did however want to wish all of my readers, a safe and happy holiday. I have seen my readership dwindle a bit lately. I hope that with the New Year, I can bring those readers back with some posts that many of you had been accustomed to. I unfortunately got sick (again), and am on new antibiotics (again).

~Another Day

I have not been a very good updater lately. With the family all taking turns being sick, and the fast approaching holiday, I haven’t had much time on my hands. I have been trying to take a bunch of day off from work in order to make sure I don’t loose any vacation time. I will be off for the entire week starting December 24th which will give me some time to get the house in order, as well as my personal finances, and my blogging.

We are just about ready for Christmas around the house. We finished up our shopping over the weekend and took a family picture, which my wife had wanted for so long, so we gave it to her for her birthday, which was also last weekend. The only thing left is to decide what we are actually doing. The fact that her parents are not really speaking to us, has kind of held them up, but we have decided that we will make plans without them, and then fit in a quick visit if they decide to speak to us.

I won’t bore with the details of the why’s but feel free to see the category in-laws if you want to learn more about them. This time it is pretty much because we don’t feel the need to consult them on our parenting decisions. I have gotten past the point where I feel it necessary to try and make nice with them, as I will not continue to stand by and let them treat my wife the way they do, and my wife I know appreciates the support, and they don’t like the fact that I don’t really require their opinion or consent for our immediate families concerns.

Other than that I did finish the wallpaper border yesterday which made the nursery almost complete. The only thing left to do is get a dresser. We are thinking that we may be able to find one inexpensively somewhere that I can refinish.

I have been collecting a large amount of things that I think would make awesome blog topics, but will have to hold those off until later this week.

I hoped to be able to publish a big post today. However that plan didn’t quite work out. I should be back Monday, as we are celebrating my wife’s birthday this weekend, so I won’t be around.
