National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month

If you stop and think, you probably have been affected or know someone that has been affected by Alzheimer’s disease. I was affected by the disease when my great aunt was affected by the disease. The impact to not only the sufferer, but the family can be devastating.

November is National Alzheimer awareness month, and during the month the National Alzheimer’s Foundation, reminds you to know the signs and symptoms of Alzheimer’s. While there is still currently no cure for the disease, screening is important for everyone, especially those with a family history.

Caring for those with Alzheimer’s is as important as finding a cure. And early detection can be vital in managing the disease. The biggest recommendation the foundation has for people is annual memory screening. Memory loss is a key symptom of the disease and screening can help catch the disease in its early stages. National Screening day is November 13, 2007. There is probably a screening location near you. By going to NationalMemoryscreening.org, you can find a location near you. Always, always encourage you loved ones to be screened.

Another resource on NationalMemoryscreening.org, are successful tips on aging. These tips help keep your mind active, and give you different key points to staying sharp. This can have an impact on your overall health and wellbeing.

Spread the word that November 13, 2007 is National Memory Screening Day. Talk with those you love, and support those who have been touched by Alzheimer’s disease. Care for those who are suffering from the disease, and those who are caregivers for Alzheimer’s patients.

Together we can help those who suffer from the disease, and find a cure, so future generations can avoid it. In this holiday season many of us give to charity. Why not make a difference in the lives of those caring for family member and those suffering from Alzheimer’s. Your donation will help make a difference and find a cure.
