Why Mother’s Intuition Should never be doubted

My wife had said all along she knew what the baby would be. We went yesterday for the 20 week ultrasound, and only hoped the baby would be cooperative. Not only was it cooperative, but it wanted to make sure we knew what to look for when buying baby items. So as the graphic here shows he made sure we knew he was a boy. As soon as the technician started he moved into a position that eliminated all doubt as to his gender. All other checks showed a very healthy little baby boy. The technician was able to show us a bit more of his facial structure. He defiantly has mom’s small pug nose, but overall seems to have a long facial structure, more like dad. And he has dad’s long fingers, and long legs. And large feet, of which we aren’t sure where those came from. So my wife left feeling vindicated, that mothers intuition should never be doubted. She has been telling me for months that it would be a boy.
The older brothers were not as excited about the prospect of a little brother as both were hoping for a sister. One thought a little sister would be great so they could play “tea party”, and the other because he fears a little brother would want to play with “his stuff”. Neither quite grasp the large age difference which will preclude much of those concerns.
Mom initially thought a girl would be fun because there are so many more cute girl items out there, and the prospect of another boy limited her design options some, but after we visited the store, and she found a boy’s outfit, she forgot all about it, and was excited. I however keep looking at the small hat, and struggle with the idea of bringing something that small home.
The only other two concerns my wife had have also been mitigated. The placenta has migrated very well, and the radiologist explained that her placenta previa has resolved itself, and have heart defects in the males in her family, she was quite happy to see that the hear looks and sounds perfect thus far.
In other news I have been working on the template for this blog, and hope to have most of the changes an de-cluttering ready for this week.

Congrats on the good news! We moms have a way of knowing these things. I was right about both of mine.

Thanks! She had been saying that it would be a boy for quite a while now. I have learned that mothers intuition can be a powerful tool!
