When It rains, There are always breaks in the clouds

It’s been quite a few days. I have been really busy with work and all this week, and I haven’t had a huge opportunity to get on-line other than my work related things. But today is quiet enough for me to spend some time catching up. So next week is the beginning of the ESY for Jon. We will hope for a good week. I know he is not looking forward to it, mostly because it’s work. Unfortunately for Jon one of his greatest weaknesses is his developed sense of laziness. Now don’t get me wrong, you add in his disability, and I can truly appreciate the challenges he faces, however, because things were so rough for him in the learning process, and to his detriment the completely poor process his Grandmother used when she insisted he be home schooled, he learned that if something is hard, you just don’t do it. It is very hard to unlearn.
Now please don’t think I am anti-Home-Schooling, because I’m not. I think done properly it can be a rewarding and enriching experience. Unfortunately for Jon, the need for special education outweighs that benefit, and when his grandmother insisted on home schooling, she didn’t follow any curriculum, or home school anything known to man. There are lots of excellent and successful home-school stories out there.
We continue to struggle with our debt. My wife will be going back to work in about a month, she is awaiting her meeting with one of the major airlines. That income will help. I have made a few dollars with my other site
The Community Center. I am trying to have some more time to work on it, but working 9 hours a day with a 1 and ½ hour commute each way, don’t always leave me a lot of extra time, but I continue to try and find it. I have published the first newsletter on the site, and will continue to do so, and hope the membership grows.
On top of our debt struggles, my wife received a letter from the ex, letting her know her was moving to Minnesota. Now right now he lives in a tropical environment so I can only guess that Minnesota will be a shock. Now of course the only reason he did that was because there is currently a court order in place requiring him to do so. And of course that also means we will stop receiving any child support for a while. Not to say that we receive it consistently now. My wife has a family court hearing about the support next month, as he is hoping to have it reduced. Of course what he didn’t do was read the initial court order, or divorce decree that stated that any changes to support require mediation, and cannot be done through the Department of Child Support Enforcement, and that whichever party initiated the change would be responsible for the legal fees of the other. Now if we do or don’t go after the fees, who knows, but we of course have to figure out how to pay them up front. We still are considering asking him to only pay half of the amount we needed to re mediate some of his LD, and then let him off the hook. Then I can adopt them, and we can put this drama past us.
Now I hope I haven’t lost readers with my sporadic posting of late. I think I have been very much into trying to do these long posts, but should work on shorter ones.
