It’s Monday! Another week trying to earn my way to find another $51,998.36. I keep hoping a millionaire will click that darned Donate button, but rats, not yet. Though even of one did I would still continue to try and raise the cash on my own, and then donate it to a charity, probably something like the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. It was the disease that ultimately took my mother, and I try to do something each year in her memory.
So the weekend was sunny and hot. We took the boys to an amusement park on Saturday. We always try to go in the fall because you can buy the next years pass for a really, really cheap price, which pays off the following year, when you can go for free! And trust me we are all about free. I can’t wait to go for a walk soon as it’s 84 degrees, no humidity, and I can work off my homemade salad. Now if only the sunburn on my arms from the park Saturday, and yard work Sunday would stop itching….
So now a month in I am feeling a bit better, but still have a way to go. At 34 I am on marriage #2, though still friends with the ex, have a lot of debt, and two children that are polar opposites of each other. Now if I could just get the older one in school. He knows that his mother not working makes things a little tight, and no matter what we tell him, he knows he is one of the causes. But as I keep telling him, he needs to be positive and look ahead, to the good things in his life. Though there are days I can see how having hope and optimism can be difficult.
How many times a day do we see all of the bad news on TV, hear it on the radio, and have it come at us 50 different ways. It’s the small pockets of bad that can easily make people forget the good in life. But most people have a truly good spirit, and give when they can. I have lots to reflect on after my first month of blogging, but don have much more time for today. So I want to leave you with a funny video.
